To safely serve customers who need assistance, the Department of Social Services is accepting applications for Food and Nutrition assistance, Medicaid, Work First Family Assistance or other DSS Services online, by phone or by mail.

Effective March 31, 2020, in-person services are by appointment only, limiting persons in the lobby and in the building to follow social distancing guidelines. Most interviews will be conducted by phone.

Effective May 8, 2020, during in-person appointments, visitors are respectfully asked to:

  • Inform staff if they are sick;
  • Wear a face covering and maintain a six-foot physical distance;
  • Wash hands prior to meetings (or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer, if available);
  • Not shake hands or touch individuals during visit, without express consent.

For your convenience, drop boxes are available in the lobby of the Social Services Building (8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.) and outside (24 hours per day, 7 days per week).
