Energy assistance programs help low-income families and individuals with heating and/or cooling costs. There are two programs to help clients in need:
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program provides heating, crisis and weatherization assistance. The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking public comment on the Revised Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program Block Grant Plan, which outlines how the federal LIHEAP block grant funds will be spent in North Carolina in federal fiscal year 2021-2022.
