Emergency Assistance is designed to assist with families’ sporadic emergency needs, such as utility cut-off or an eviction notice. All counties are required to operate Emergency Assistance Programs. The procedures for determining eligibility are:
- Proof of income to determine if the family is at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level;
- Written proof of eviction from landlord and/or verification from the utility company of pending disconnection (client must be legally responsible for bill);
- Deposits for rent or establishing utilities (clients must be residents of Granville County).
*Please note that each client is evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may be asked to provide additional information.
