Does the State take your property if you apply for Medicaid?
No.  However, the State can put a claim against a person’s estate at death if Medicaid paid for certain services.

Does Medicaid cover eye doctors and glasses?
Yes, for individuals under the age of 21.
Medicaid will also cover individuals over 21, if you have a degenerative eye disease.

How long does it take for my Medicaid application to be processed?
45 to 90 days, depending upon the program for which the person qualifies. For Special Assistance, the processing timeframes are:  45, 60, or 90 days.
