
The Granville County Senior Center in Oxford will hold its annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. If you are interested in being a vendor please call Julie Brockman at 919-693-1930. There is an application you will need to complete. Booth rental will be $20.00 and vendors are asked to donate a raffle prize. We encourage local crafts people to join us and showcase their handmade goods.
Tuesday, December 6 – It’s In the Bag
*Learn to make specialty gift bags like a Snowman or Santa as well as miniature gift bags for small treats or gifts. Make, decorate and take home your accomplishments for the day.
Wednesday, December 7 – Boxes, Bows and Trims
*A demonstration and presentation about the simplicity of decorating packages with paper will be followed by learning to make a gift box by folding and cutting paper. Cornucopia boxes for sachets or candy treats and working with vellum will be a special feature.
Thursday, December 8 – Angel Light Centerpiece
*Learn the method for cutting and sculpting paper angels to make a three-angel centerpiece with lights. You will be able to save this centerpiece for many years.
Each class is $10 per person OR you may take all three classes for $25. The cost includes all supplies. A minimum of four participants in order to hold each class. Participants are asked to bring their own “tools” (scissors, rulers, etc). Maxine Chauvaux will be the instructor. The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation’s first and largest driver safety course designed especially for drivers 50 and older.
The South Granville Senior Center in Creedmoor will hold their class on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 1:00 until 5:00. Call 919-693-3383 to pre-register.

The cost for this class is $15 for AARP members and $20 for all non-members which includes all course materials.
The instructor for these classes will be Lynroy Thomas, a certified AARP Driver Safety Program instructor.
