The Granville County Board of Commissioners’ Summer Civic Leadership Program offers opportunities for rising high school seniors to learn more about how their local county government operates.
Granville County students are selected through a competitive application and interview process for a five-week rotation through county departments to gain “hands-on” experience in fields of general government, human services, public safety, and community service. Upon completion of the program, each participating student receives educational assistance in the form of a scholarship check to help fund their secondary education and/or training of their choosing.
The leadership program was temporarily suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The County plans to renew the program in 2022. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
For general information about this program, contact the Granville County Clerk to the Board of Commissioners at (919) 603-1307.
