NC DOT Seeking Public Input on Transportation Plan

Posted August 14, 2023

The N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is seeking public input on what transportation projects they would like to see included in the state’s 2026-2035 transportation plan. Granville County encourages residents to give their input on how NCDOT should invest infrastructure funding and to suggest local highway, bike/pedestrian, or public transportation projects in Granville County or for the greater region.

The NCDOT follows guidelines in the NC Strategic Transportation Investments law, which guides funding to projects that will foster economic growth, job creation, and a higher quality of life while also improving NC’s transportation infrastructure.

Public comments will be accepted through September 1. The public may comment by utilizing an online survey form or visit the DOT Division 5 Office (2612 North Duke Street, Durham) from August 14-18 for an open house. Contact David Keilson at 919-825-2637 or dpkeilson@ncdot.gov for more information on the Division 5 open house.

The 2026-2035 transportation plan is scheduled to be released in early 2025 following two more opportunities for public comment in the spring and fall of 2024 for regional-level projects.
