Officials Attend Ribbon Cutting for Robertson Creek Nature Preserve

Granville County representatives joined officials from the City of Creedmoor, NC, the Granville County Chamber of Commerce, and NC Attorney General Josh Stein to celebrate the opening of the Tar River Land Conservancy Robertson Creek Nature Preserve in Creedmoor.

 

Commissioner Tim Karan spoke on behalf of the Granville County Board of Commissioners, stating “this is what teamwork looks like. Granville County has partnered with the Tar River Land Conservancy for nearly two decades to conserve our county’s natural resources all while increasing access to recreational opportunities. Projects like the Robertson Creek Nature Preserve shows how teamwork and cooperation between county government, municipal government, and non-profits along with corporate and private philanthropy can make great things happen here in Granville.”

 

Since 2004, Granville County has contributed over funding for land purchases that protect and conserve over 1,400 acres of land showcasing the natural beauty found in Granville County in partnership with the Tar River Land Conservancy.

 

The Robertson Creek Nature Preserve is located at 2185 NC Highway 56, Creedmoor. Other protected lands that Granville County has partnered with the Tar River Land Conservancy to open to the public are listed below.

Ledge Creek Forest Conservation Area (3189 Brogden Road, Stem and 3528 Old NC-75, Stem)

 

Roberts Chapel Conservation Area (792 Roberts Chapel Road, Stem)

 

Horseshoe Road Nature Preserve (3108 Horseshoe Road, Creedmoor)
