The NCACC (North Carolina Association of County Commissioners) selected Jermaine Puryear as the NCACC YouthVoice Delegate for the 2022 NCACC Annual Conference in Concord.
Puryear introduced himself to the Granville County Board of Commissioners during their meeting on August 8 and during his remarks, Puryear requested that the Board consider instituting a Youth Council to advise the County on activities and programs from the perspective of middle and high school aged students. The Board unanimously voted to institute the Youth Council idea as recommended by Puryear!
The NCACC annual conference is happening now in Concord, NC. YouthVoice provides county commissioners with the opportunity to connect with the next generation of leaders. The event brings together Youth Delegates from 4-H Youth Development clubs and Boys and Girls Clubs of North Carolina.
YouthVoice, which takes place on Friday and Saturday of the NCACC’s Annual Conference, offers sessions that help youth gain a better understanding of what county governments do and the role of commissioners as the governing body for counties, and provides multiple opportunities for youth and county officials to connect.
Granville County is proud to have Jermaine selected as the Granville County YouthVoice Delegate and we are confident he will be a great ambassador for our community!
