The annual “Nifty Nineties” celebration is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 22 at the Granville County Senior Center in Oxford. This year’s event will be held in a new way, as Granville County seniors age 90 and above will be honored in a drive-through tribute that includes a “goodie bag,” live music in the parking lot and dinner to go. Participants are encouraged to bring a guest and enjoy the festivities from the safety of their own cars as they join in the celebration.
The event will be held from 5 until 6 p.m. Safety precautions and social distancing will be observed.
