We are very proud to announce that Angela Allen, Director of the Granville County Tourism Development Authority, is this year’s Rising Star of the Visit NC Destination Marketing Achievement Award! The announcement was made at this week’s North Carolina Travel Industry Association conference in Charlotte, NC.
Angela has worked to bring statewide attention to Granville County through media outlets like Our State magazine, UNC-TV, and Time Warner Cable News. One of the impact areas we’ve seen grow the most since Angela began is in our annual tourism dollars in Granville County. In 2014, prior to Angela’s start in Granville, visitors spent $44.26 million, a 0.38% decrease from the previous year. Angela oversaw a 3.23% increase in tourism dollars in her first year with visitors spending $45.69 million in Granville County.
Angela is so very deserving of this award. We are very proud of her and proud that she represents Granville County.
