Fifteen For 15: Celebrating the GAP’s 15th Anniversary

Every year the Granville Athletic Park (the GAP) is a part of countless memorable moments as thousands of visitors enter our 68-acre park right in the heart of Granville County. The GAP is a wooded park where the natural environment is not just a part of the park’s aesthetic, but a part of the park’s many opportunities. Our paved walking trails weave through tall pines and hardwoods; our ball fields are framed by greenery. Phase I of the GAP-the Jonesland Environmental Preserve-is maintained entirely organically.

Right off of I-85 and just outside of the Oxford city limits, the GAP has provided a third space outside of work and home for many families for 15 years. The park came into existence because of the dedicated efforts of thousands of Granville County residents and global citizens (check out the history of the GAP on the next page). It’s this kind of community support that has kept the park going for 15 years, and it’s that same support that will keep the park going for many more years to come.

We hope you will consider the fifteen ways to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the GAP. We appreciate the support of Granville County, and we look forward to the future of recreation for all.

-Michael Felts, County Manager
