GAP Phase III expands on existing park facilities with tennis courts, sand volleyball pits, an easily accessible and inclusive playground, outdoor fitness equipment area, cornhole pads, and picnic shelter with restrooms.

For everyone’s enjoyment, please be sure to observe park rules and regulations.  Park staff are trained and obligated to enforce these rules. Failure to abide by the rules may result in violators being ejected from the park and prohibited from future use of park property, facilities, or services.

TENNIS COURTStennis court
Six tennis courts are available for reservation or open play. 
Courts 1-3 are lit and players may utilize those courts until 10:00 pm; Courts 4-6 are not lit and may be utilized until dusk only.  

Using the Courts
Use of the tennis courts is at user’s own risk.  Gates must remain closed at all times. Court reservations are available as follows:   

  • Tennis courts may be reserved for $6 per hour.
  • For tournaments and groups requiring multiple hours, courts may be reserved for 1/2 day (up to 5 hours) for $18 per court or full day (> 5 hours) for $36 per court.
  • Reservation fee must be paid at time of reservation.
  • Reservation requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Reservations requests can only be made up to one week in advance.
  • Individual users must notify Granville County Parks & Grounds within 24 hours of any weather-related cancellation to have a credit issued for future play. Credits do not happen automatically. 
  • Tournament or group users must provide Granville County Parks & Grounds with a 72-hour notice of any weather-related cancellation to have a credit used for future play.  Credits do not happen automatically.
  • Requests received on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays may not be answered until the next regular business day.

Open courts that have not been reserved are available on a first-come/first-served basis.  When others are waiting, the time limit for non-reserved court play is one hour (singles) or 1 ½ hour (doubles). 

The following are prohibited on the tennis courts at any time:

  • Pets
  • Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, or other similar activities
  • Street shoes (tennis shoes only)
  • Food or glass containers
  • Sitting, pushing, or pulling on tennis nets
  • Private instruction and/or classes unless written permission is received from Granville County Parks & Grounds

 

SAND VOLLEYBALL
