Fire Marshal Inspection, Plan Review, and Permit Fees & Fines

Inspection Fees/Fines

Inspection types include: Routine business inspections, school inspections, and inspections that must be requested including ABC permit inspection, daycare, foster home, family/AFL care.

STEP ONE.
If you do not know your inspection fee and/or fine amount, contact the Fire Marshal’s Office at (919) 603-1310.

STEP TWO.
Once you know the amount due, submit payment online by choosing Inspections/Fine from the “Payment Type” dropdown menu on the Online Payment Service page. Note: Online payments made over a weekend or holiday will not be processed until the next business day. 

STEP THREE.
If you are paying online to have an inspection scheduled, after your online payment has been completed, you must call the Fire Marshal’s Office at (919) 603-1310 to verify payment has been approved and to schedule the inspection.


 

Plan Review/Permit Fees

Permit types include: Tent, fumigation, blasting, storage tanks, and outdoor fireworks displays.

STEP ONE. Submit a permit application to enable calculation of fees. Permit applications are available on the Permits & Inspections page and can be dropped off in person, mailed via USPS, or emailed directly to reba.duke@granvillecounty.org.

STEP TWO.
If you do not know your plan review and/or permit fee amount, contact the Fire Marshal’s Office at (919) 603-1310.

STEP THREE.
Once your permit has been processed, the fee amount will be sent to the email address on file.  If you prefer an alternative method of communication, please indicate this on the permit application. 

STEP FOUR.
You can submit payment online by choosing Plan Review/Permit Fee from the “Payment Type” dropdown menu on the Online Payment Service page. Note: Online payments made over a weekend or holiday will not be processed until the next business day. 


 

Accepted forms of payment include Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and e-Check. A convenience fee (a charge set by the payment processing company) will apply and be added to the online payment. The fee is not collected by Granville County Government.  

The following convenience fees apply:

Debit Card*         1.5%
e-Check             $1.95
* $1.95 minimum fee
