Granville County Board of Commissioners Meeting

The Granville County Board of Commissioners holds regular monthly meetings on the first and third Mondays of each month, unless otherwise noted. All regular meetings are open to the public. In order to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions, some meetings are held remotely.

The Granville County Parks, Greenways and Recreation Advisory Committee meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m., except for June and July, at the Richard H. Thornton Library in Oxford. Meetings for 2020 are scheduled for Jan. 21, Feb. 18, March 17, April 21, May 19, Aug. 18, Sept. 15, Oct. 20, Nov. 17 and Dec. 15.

 

 

NOTE: The meeting scheduled for March 17 has been cancelled.

Veterans Affairs Committee meets @ Granville County Expo and Convention Center

The Granville County Veterans Affairs Committee meets at 7 p.m. every other month at the Expo and Convention Center. Meeting dates for 2020 are scheduled for Jan. 21, March 17, May 19, July 21, Sept. 15 and Nov. 17. (Due to mass gathering restrictions as a result of COVID-19, the March 17 and the May 19 meetings of the Veterans Affairs Committee were cancelled.)

275th Anniversary Planning Committee @ Expo and Convention Center

Granville County’s 275th Anniversary Planning Committee will meet on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 1:30 p.m. for the purpose of developing plans to observe this milestone celebration. Contact Comm. Sue Hinman, Committee Chair, at 919-691-1183 for more details.

Granville County Tourism Development Authority @ Comfort Inn and Suites, Oxford or Best Western, Creedmoor

The Granville County Tourism Development Authority meets at 2 p.m. at the Comfort Inn and Suites, 1000 Linden Avenue in Oxford or at the Best Western, 2578 West Lyon Station Road in Creedmoor. Call 919-693-6125 for meeting locations. Meetings are held monthly – except for July and December.

 

Please note that the June 25 meeting will be held remotely (Zoom phone/video conference) and will include a public hearing on the FY 2020/2021 budget. Those interested in joining in the meeting should register with Tourism Director Angela Allen by June 24 to be given access. Fall Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Shred Event @ Granville County Expo and Convention Center

Annual event for recycling and collection of household materials such as scrap metal, electronics, outdated prescriptions, etc. Hazardous waste collection and paper shredding will also be available on site. Contact Granville County’s Recycling and Sustainability Coordinator Teresa Baker at 919-725-1417 for more details

The Granville County Social Services Board meets at 5 p.m. at the Department of Social Services, 410 West Spring Street in Oxford. Meeting dates for 2020 are scheduled for Jan. 28, Feb. 25, March 24, April 28, May 26, June 23, July 28, Aug. 25, Sept. 22, Oct. 27, Nov. 24 and Dec. 15.
