Granville County provides many services to its citizens. While a majority of the revenue that pays for these services is through local and state-authorized taxes, some services are appropriately funded by user-fees. The user-fee concept essentially states that the cost of services that benefit a certain person or group of persons should be paid for by those persons. The user-fee concept promotes fairness because the revenue supplements the tax dollars that would otherwise be used to pay for the service.
The Schedule of Fees is reviewed each year as part of the annual budget process and is revised as needed.
