Medicaid information session scheduled for April 14

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will transition most beneficiaries to NC Medicaid Managed Care statewide on July 1, 2021. Under NC Medicaid Managed Care, the State is contracting with insurance companies called Prepaid Health Plans (PHPs).

To share information about these health plans, a “Facebook Live” event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 14. At 9 a.m., those interested in learning more about options available through Medicaid are invited to visit https://www.facebook.com/GranvilleCountyGov for a live presentation and discussion about the upcoming changes to Medicaid.

Enrollment for NC Medicaid Managed Care is now open. Beneficiaries can enroll in a health plan in one of the following ways:

  • 1. Go to ncmedicaidplans.gov;
  • 2. Use the NC Medicaid Managed Care mobile app;
  • 3. Call (toll-free) at 1-833-870-5500;
  • 4. Fill out and enrollment form, when you receive it, and mail/fax it back.

A health plan is a group of doctors, hospitals and other medical professionals that work together to provide the health care that is needed. Everything – physical health, behavioral health and medicine, will come from the same health plan. Beneficiaries will be able to choose a health plan and primary care provider (PCP) that is best for themselves and for their families. A PCP could be a trusted family doctor, clinic or other health care provider.
