Granville County Extension Director honored

Granville/Person County Extension Director Paul Westfall has been honored with the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) at the National Association of County Agriculture Agents (NACAA) Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference, recently held in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The DSA is presented to NACAA members who have served at least 10 years in their state Cooperative Extension Service, have conducted outstanding programs, are held in high esteem by their fellow workers, and are approved by the State Director of Extension.

 

Westfall has served as County Extension Director (CED) in Granville County since 2008 and has been the Cooperative Extension Director for both Granville and Person Counties since 2015. He has been President of the North Carolina Association of County Agriculture Agents (NCACAA) and has served as the Southern Region Vice-Chair for the Administrative Skills Committee.

 

 

Over his 36-year career, Westfall has worked with the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Cornell Cooperative Extension, and North Carolina Cooperative Extension. He holds both BS and MS degrees in Animal Science from the University of Arkansas, and a Master’s degree in Agricultural and Extension Education from North Carolina State University.
