Granville County Animal Control has a confirmed rabid raccoon that was found near the intersection of Charlie Stovall Road and Hwy 96 North on Tuesday, July 24. Granville County Animal Shelter will be open extra hours on Thursday, Aug. 2 from noon until 7 p.m, on Saturday, Aug. 4 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.and Tuesday, Aug. 4 from noon until 7 p.m. to provide rabies vaccinations. One-year rabies vaccines will be available for $6.00 for dogs and cats. Please have dogs on a leash and cats in a carrier.
