Low-Income Energy Assistance Program

Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) provides a one-time annual vendor payment to help eligible families pay their heating expense.
When to apply:
December 1st through December 31st :
Households containing and elderly person age 60 and above or a disabled person receiving services through the Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) can apply in December. Disabled persons are defined as receiving SSI, SSA, or VA disability.
January 1st through March 31st:
Any household can potentially receive benefits during this time or until funds are exhausted.
Eligibility:
Households meet income eligibility if the total household members’ countable income for the prior month is equal to or less than 130% of the current poverty level. Households cannot exceed the countable resource limit of $2,250 as of the date of application.
