CPS In-Home Family Services are provided to families who have had a Substantiation of Abuse, Neglect, or Dependency.
The purpose of CPS In-Home Services is to keep children safe in their homes while helping their parents learn better ways of parenting, and helping them to find needed community resources. A social worker makes an In Home Case Plan with the family. This Plan seeks to solve problems identified during the investigation. DSS may file a court petition at any time DSS feels the situation is too unsafe for the children to remain in their home, or if six months pass without the family making progress on their Plan.
