Finance Department

 The County Finance Department is dedicated to efficiently and effectively administering the fiscal affairs of the County in compliance with State law and Federal regulations and in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles.  The Department provides management with the fiscal information and analysis required by an efficient local government in today’s ever-changing environment.

One primary function of the department is keeping the accounts of the County in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles of governmental accounting and the rules and regulations of the North Carolina Local Government Commission.  The Department is also responsible for determining that all of the County’s disbursements are in strict compliance with the law and the County budget ordinance.  The Finance Director and department staff serve as consultants and advisors to the County Manager and Board of County Commissioners on all financial matters.
