The Granville County Board of Commissioners at their meeting on Monday, October 16, 2017 will hold a public hearing at 7:00 PM or later in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room in the Auditorium at the Granville Expo and Convention Center at 4185 US Highway 15 South, Oxford, N.C. 27565.
The purpose of the public hearing is to hear public comments on the following land development code text amendment petition:
Granville County Land Development Code Text Amendment Petition
AMENDMENT TO THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE (LDC) THAT WOULD ADD A STANDARD IN SECTION 32-201 FOR INSTITUTIONAL RESIDENTIAL LAND USES THAT THE LAND USE BE SERVED BY PUBLIC WATER AND SEWER IN THE ZONING DISTRICTS WHERE THE LAND USE IS A LIMITED USE. THE AMENDMENT WOULD ALSO INCLUDE: (1) CHANGE JUNIOR HIGH TO MIDDLE SCHOOL IN THE INSTITUTIONAL LAND USE’S DEFINITION; AND, (2) ALLOW PUBLIC OR PRIVATE ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE, AND HIGH SCHOOLS WITH LIVE-IN FACILITIES ON-SITE AS A INSTITUTIONAL RESIDENTIAL LAND USE AND REMOVE LANGUAGE FROM SAME LAND USE THAT SAYS OTHER THAN UNIVERSITIES, COLLEGES AND PREPARATORY SCHOOLS.
Changes may be made in the advertised proposal, which reflect debate, objections, and discussions at the hearing. Any interested citizen is invited to attend.
