Friday, June 16, was a big day at the Granville County Animal Shelter! Fourteen new outdoor kennels were installed with the help of dedicated staff and volunteers. All the dogs are now able to spend the majority of the day outside (weather permitting). Spending time outside of the shelter is so important for the dogs under the care of Granville County Animal Management; it helps them adjust much better to the shelter environment, and they tend to do much better during their stay at the shelter. A dog that is well-adjusted to shelter life has a much higher rate of being adopted. The kennels were paid for with fundraiser money and generous donations from the community. A huge thank you to those that have donated to the shelter!
