5th Annual Recycle More & LitterLess Art and Music Contest ALL Students Grades K-12

We have a REAL Problem with trashy roads within our communities. This is your chance to speak out about how you feel through advertising your thoughts and feelings about litter and the Right ways to dispose of trash or recyclables & Your Hopes for a better future.

 

For Art Entries:
Accepting drawings, paintings, and photographs – No bigger than 11” x 17” – interpretations of how to better our communities by eliminating litter and recycling all that we can but also making sure that trash ends up in the right place as well.
*Remember that the art entries will be on a billboard and need to be clearly visible and understood. You will be advertising.

 

Four Winners will be chosen from elementary, middle and high schools.
Each winner will have their artwork displayed for 4 weeks on one of two billboard locations within our county. The locations of the Billboards are: Lewis Street in Oxford, and on NC Hwy 56 in Butner.

 

For the Music Entries:
We will be accepting “music jingles” (no more than 30 seconds long) with lyrics about the trash on our roads and concerns about it and why recycling is so important.

 

In addition to having your art displayed on a billboard and music jingle being played on the local radio station…
Prize Money will also be awarded to each winner!!!!

 

All Art and Music entries are due by May 30, 2017.

 

Judging will take place on May31st, 2017 and winners will be announced the following day. 

 

Each winner is asked to come be recognized at the Granville County Commissioners meeting on June 5, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Granville County Expo & Convention Center. Please try to be in attendance to receive your award certificate and prize money.
